Dr. Farzaneh Milani
is Professor of Persian and Women's Studies and Director of Studies
in Women and Gender at the University of Virginia. The past President
of the Association of Middle Eastern Women's Studies, Dr. Milani is a
leading authority on the contemporary literature of Iranian women and
a poet of distinnction.
Her publications include Veils and Words: The Emerging Voices of
Iranian Women (Syracuse University Press, 1994) and A Cup of
Sin: The Poetry of Simin Behbahani (I.B. Taurus, 1999).
She is currently preparing an overview of Iranian gender, tentatively
titled Remapping the Cultural Geography of Iran: Women, Mobility,
and Power.
